We are a group of volunteer housing advocates in San Francisco fighting to end the housing shortage in our community. We are frustrated by the tenant displacement, segregation, high rents and home prices, and long commutes that result from a lack of housing close to jobs, schools, and other community resources. We believe we can fix these problems and create a community with abundant, affordable homes for everyone.
The housing shortage is a result of harmful laws at all levels of government. Inclusive housing policies will help shrink the racial wealth gap, reduce displacement, reduce carbon emissions, and give more people access to jobs and high quality schools. Change is possible when we advocate as a community. We bring together the voices who say YES to more housing in San Francisco. Is that you? Join SF YIMBY and be part of the nationwide movement to end the housing shortage!

Policies we support
Allow more housing in every neighborhood, especially historically affluent and exclusionary neighborhoods, removing barriers to both subsidized affordable and market rate housing
Reform structures that incentivize communities to say no to new homes, including tax systems and car centric transportation systems.
Make housing permits fast and fair, removing arbitrary barriers to both subsidized affordable and market rate housing.
Enact policies that support current residents having stable housing choices amid growth.
Increase funding for subsidized affordable housing through a wide variety of mechanisms, including direct subsidies.
