San Francisco is about to adopt a new zoning map that could ease our housing shortage and make the city more affordable for both current residents and future generations. We had amazing turnout at the April 10 informational hearing -- thank you to everyone who showed up and spoke out!

Now we’re entering the critical phase:
On Monday, June 16, the Board of Supervisors Land Use Committee will vote on the rezoning plan.
This is our chance to make sure the plan continues moving and brings homes to our communities.

Your voice is more important than ever.

Why This Matters

  • It gives families more options. This “family zoning” plan allows for backyard homes, in-law units, and small apartments so families can stay together and renters have more neighborhood choices.
  • It’s smart, fair planning. New homes would go in areas with schools, parks, and transit -- the kinds of neighborhoods where people want to live but can’t find housing.
  • It protects essential funding. Cities that don’t comply risk losing money for transit, affordable housing, and infrastructure.
  • It keeps San Francisco in control. If we don’t pass a strong plan, the state could override local rules and approve development without public input.

What You Can Do

RSVP now to testify at the June 16 hearing and tell your Supervisor: We support this plan, and we want it to go further.

You can also sign our petition here!

Let’s make it clear what San Franciscans want: more homes in our neighborhoods -- more blocks, more flexibility, and more opportunity across the city.

Thank you for your advocacy!
